The leading automobile company Lexus has announced the launch of its first battery-electric vehicle that can go on sale towards the end of 2022. The company published a press release that includes all the information regarding this EV, its specifications, and its launch.

The electric vehicle is going to be the new normal in the coming years and Lexus wants to join this moment towards a greener earth. The company has already launched hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), and now is moving forward to launch a pure battery electric vehicle. The goal is to become a 100% electric brand by the year 2030 with 100% BEV sales globally.

The vehicle is based on the Japanese platform eTNGA EV and is packed with tons of luxury features. Lexus has decided to go all out to provide comfort to the riders. This electric vehicle will have also an electrically controlled steering that can turn up to 150 degrees and the core technology will be able to get quick driver’s inputs for faster response.

One feature everyone is looking forward to is the Lexus Driving Signature. This feature will aim to achieve a predictable linear response according to the driver’s intention. This feature is also included in the previous models of Lexus cars to provide a greater body rigidity with an improved suspension to make the ride better and more tranquil. In the RZ 450e, Lexus Driving Signature is upgraded for a better and smoother experience.

This vehicle provides you with enough battery to go on the longest rides. The battery used in these electric vehicles is of 71.4kWh lithium-ion which can run 450 KMs on a single charge. This fast-charging battery can be charged from 0% to 80% in 30 minutes. It is claimed that the battery will give 90% of its usable capacity even after 10 years of use. It is going to be an under-floor battery resulting in a more rigid chassis.

The RZ will go from 0 to 100kph in 5.6 seconds thanks to the new DIRECT4 feature. This feature comprises two electric motors one at the front(308hp) and one at the back(108hp) that gives a combined output of 312hp and 435Nm of torque.
